Primary Bedroom

This summer, we are delighted to unveil our Primary Bedroom at WOW!house 2026 at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour, showcasing our latest in-house collection of fabrics and wallpapers from 2nd June to 2nd July.

WOW!house 2026

A Room of One’s Own

Conceived as a personal retreat, the room is an expression of everything that continues to inspire our work: layered comfort, architectural integrity, and rooms that feel as though they have evolved over time.

All the fabrics and wallpapers used in our room are part of the latest launch from our in-house collection. As both the interior designer and brand sponsor of the space, WOW!house 2026 has given us the rare opportunity to create a room that fully immerses visitors in the Salvesen Graham world.

The room not only reflects our interior design philosophy but also showcases The Salvesen Graham Collection, bringing our latest fabrics and wallpapers to life within a scheme designed to demonstrate them exactly as they were intended to be experienced.

The Spirit of the Primary Bedroom

From the outset, we imagined the room as belonging to a thoughtful, well-travelled woman, someone drawn to beauty, craftsmanship and collected things with stories behind them. We wanted the space to feel restorative and deeply familiar, as though it had always existed in the house.

The design draws quietly from the great English country houses of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, while being set in America. A coffered ceiling, generous cornicing and carefully detailed panelling create a sense of permanence and calm structure, while softer decorative layers brings feminine softness.

Decorating Through Layering

Layering has always been central to our approach. Throughout the room, antiques sit alongside upholstered pieces, gathered objects, artworks and textiles in a way that feels relaxed yet considered.

There are subtle references to travel and memory woven throughout, nothing overly thematic, simply gentle suggestions of a life well lived. We wanted the room to feel deeply personal, comfortable, inhabited and entirely authentic.

Our latest Collection

At the heart of the scheme is our new collection of fabrics and wallcoverings, which has informed much of the room’s atmosphere and palette. Rooted in archival references and traditional decorative techniques, the collection balances quieter patterns with more intricate motifs designed for layering together effortlessly.

The colours are intentionally muted and enduring, creating a cohesive scheme that is both grand and intimately restful. The result is a space that feels lived-in and distinctly personal - assembled over time rather than designed at once.

Architecture and Femininity

We wanted the room to possess strong architectural detailing while remaining inviting and intimate - ultimately feminine.

The architectural detailing provides rhythm and formality, drawing on the Ionic order of classical architecture. It is softened by gathered curtains, tactile fabrics, antique wood, upholstered seating, and carefully chosen lighting. The interplay between these elements creates the perfect balance: a room that feels elegant yet entirely liveable.

Our Future Heritage Approach

The notion of future heritage remains central to our work. We are always interested in creating interiors that feel rooted in history yet entirely relevant to contemporary living. Our philosophy is rooted in creating spaces that feel personal, timeless and connected to their context.

We hope this room reflects that, a space that honours historical decoration while feeling fresh, relaxed and suitable for modern life. Rather than designing for impact alone, we wanted to create a room that people could genuinely imagine living in, somewhere restful enough to retreat to at the end of the day.
