Lay the perfect Easter table

At the Top Table

Although it may not have the glitz and glamour of Christmas, Easter is a holiday which always brings with it so much cheer. A long, languid weekend spent with friends and family eating, drinking and basking in some early spring sunshine (we can but dream) is about as good as it gets. If you’re hosting lunch, it’s also a chance to have fun with your table and lean into more playful schemes, mixing splashes of bright colour with floral prints to create a sunny spring-like scene (chicks and bunnies, optional).

Given the cornucopia of colour peeking through outside, it seems only right to lay the foundations with a tablecloth like this one from Summerill & Bishop. The tangle of mimoa branches creates a vibrant base on which to lay everything else. To add all-important texture, try bamboo-handled cutlery. Rebecca Udall's is not just the prettiest we've seen, but it's weight in your hand feels beautifully balanced too.

Flowers are a must for an Easter table but take inspiration from Willow Crossley and swap out large displays for smaller, scattered offerings. Repurposed jam jars and candle pots make perfect vessels for clutches of new season hyacinths and narcissi, while delicate apple blossom branches arranged in taller jugs are ideal for hanging Gisella Graham’s beautiful Primavera Glass Egg decorations from.

And of course, because no table would be complete without a candle or three, our lacquered jewel toned candle holders topped with floral Candle Shades
are a must. A pretty addition to any tablescape even without being lit, they’re always handy to have as extra lighting options should Easter lunch turn into dinner…
