This beautiful range is designed and made by UNESCO- recognized ceramicists in the Valcea county of Romania, deep in the Carpathian Mountains. Each piece is handmade by a mother, daughter team and is thrown in their home studios, then skillfully hand-painted in a traditional design. The glaze is poured freehand through a cow horn and applied with a goose feather nib. The pieces are glazed on the inside and beautifully textured rough ceramic on the outside.
Made only during the spring and summer, when the weather is warm enough for the clay to dry, this pottery bears all the marks of its makers. It is rough and rustic, authentic and charming. No two pieces are exactly the same, which we think adds to the charm!
